At the stroke of midnight, the horizon erupted. There are apparently no laws governing 'pirotechnicas' here as they were being launched in the thick of the city from ever rooftop, balcony and park that we could view. Reports this morning said merely 74 people were hospitalized last night with firework-related injuries.
The scene from the roof of our apartment building was spectacular - the fireworks blooming and popping until almost 1 am.
