almuerzo

Keeping up my food end of the bargain...

For lunch we bumbled our way through ordering at Pani, conveniently located around the corner in Palermo Hollywood.  It's a vintage-styled bakery with mega sandwiches, salads and $4 USD bottles of 'water with gas'.

Greg's sammie had 2 fried pork tenderloin cutlets sandwiching ham and cheese, with fried onions, bookended by a sweet brioche bun.  Sinful.
I opted for a croque monsieur that was adequately sauced and cheesy.  A little odd was the bread - it was basically unsweetened yellow cake sliced inch thick.  Huh.

And a couple random grocery store pics:

Another gem: we've learned the word for cold meats (fiambres).  Coupled with 'queso and vino', we're set for ordering dinner out!

  1. That egg looks overcooked. You should bin the whole trip and head back to the states.
